Just spent the weekend at the Northeast Primative Rendezvous in Freeport Maine. I went as a participant and my wife and son as visitors. We stayed at a nearby campground and went over at our liesure. I shot a novelty line shoot and did OK for a pilgrum. It was a positive experience and my wife said she would like to go to another, though I doubt I'll get her into period clothing or the primative camp anytime in the forseeable future. A very enjoyable time!

Suggest it gently, you might be surprized. Help her with her outfit and get all your gear together for you to go and camp primitive, then let her make the choice to camp or stay at the motel at night. My wife did her first one Memorial weekend, cold and rainy, but the women made her feel welcome and she had a ball. Now she's ready to go any time I say the word. Be advised, it did cost me a whole bunch more work. She wanted a fly for the front of the tent, a cook table, more storage boxes, a primitive looking cooler, a buckskin dress, more candle lanterns, stuff for the trade blanket, the list goes on. It's a whole lot of fun sitting around the fire till the wee hours of the night with the other folks there, then getting up in the morning and heading to the range to shoot with the same folks. You develope a close bond and strong friendships real quick. At least make her the offer and let her decide. If she doesn't want to, a lot of guy go by themselves, I did during my first marriage, that's probably why we aren't together. Good Luck
