Gentlemen,
I was wondering about flasks.
I have only used them for my pistols and horns for my long arms, but that got me wondering....
When did flasks strt getting more use?
I know the 1841 rifle pouch had an attached flask, but is that the earliest we can document?
What about small bag flasks for priming flinters? That way you could carry rolled cartridges (and not have to UNsafely prime first), use that then prime with a little bag flask. BUT, I want to be correct to the period, so if anyone has information...I am all ears (except tonight when I am studying for a crim law final).
Thank you,
David

Flasks go WAY back. What time frame, firearm and location are you looking for?

Generally I do 1830-65, But I am getting into a little 1812 as well.
Do you know ablout the little bag flasks? What about wearing them (like the 1841 style?)?
Thanks
David
