Here's a flat horn I finished today. I had a length of horn left over after making some boxes so I thought I would try a flat horn. The horn was heated (lard) and pressed between two wood blocks in a bench vise. It came out pretty symmetrical and was thick enough to correct any irregularities.

I turned the collar from horn and applied it with CA glue. The plug and stopper are cherry. The stud was turned from 1/4" brass and the ring was made from coat hanger wire.

The color is really much nicer but it was raining today, so that's the best I could do on the porch.

Much better. It's really not quite as red. It's a nice day today - I'll try for some better pix.

Thanks much for all the nice compliments.
