Here is a little flattened powder horn that I just finished yesterday and a little different than most of my horns, as there is no engraving!.................go figure?

Its been awhile since I really made a heavily stressed horn, so this is the end result. I left some of the nicks, scratches, cracks and dings in it, as well as adding a few more to give it a cosmetically well used character.

Constructive comments and opinions welcome!

How much powder will it hold? Iv'e been working on a flattened horn n iffen it turns out half as nice I'll be right happy. Perfect for a days hunting squirrel n such, or even deer for that matter. Nice work!. YMHS Birdman

Birdman, I really couldn't say offhand, but I have one that is slightly smaller, that I use for hunting squirrels and it holds more powder than I get shots!

Rick: That really IS nice! What species of wood did you use for the plug? What was your heat source for flattening? Your horn is inspirational.

The base wood is American walnut. Heat gun.

Thanks for all the nice words everyone!
