I am happy to report, using a Jim Chamber's, Golden Age Lock and Fuller 3/4"X7/8" flints, that I am getting over 100 strikes per flint. I flip it back and forth from time to time, but I am really a happy camper.

:hatsoff:
Tom Fuller BEFs are outstanding for sure...since I've finished using up all my 'humpback' shapes, all of the thin flat sharp 3/4" x 7/8' are giving me that same kind of service.

Two Saturday 50 shot sessions in a row on the same flint...might knapp it once during the first Saturday or not at all...might knapp it twice during the second 50 shot session...then when I clean the rifle I clean the flint and toss it in a jar of used flints.

I just ordered a ton of 3/4" x 7/8" BEFs at cost from the big flint sale going on...won't worry about availability of Tom Fuller BEFs again for the rest of my life.

100:1 ratio isn't too shabby, how can a percussion cap compete with that kind of logic? :shake: :haha:
