I recently bought a flint lock pistol and was wondering how long (how many shots) does a frizzen and the frizzen spring last? The reason that I ask, is the pistol is no longer made and the gentleman who made it is getting on in age. Are these 2 parts something I should have spares for? I can order them now, would you?

Thanks

RDE

If it is a CVA you can get parts at Deer Creek 765-525-6181. What if the mainspring breaks?.I have one spare for my CVA, Main, frizzen, frizzen spring. No spares for my pedersoli.L&R,and TC. Dilly

Yes. Get two of each. And when (and if) you need to replace the ones on the gun with one of those two spares, order another set so you always have two on hand.

Better to have parts and not need them than to not have them when you need them. Nuff said.
