Flintlock or percussion musket?

I’m trying to figure out if this might manage as a civil war participant and where it came from. It seems influenced by Charleville but has substantial markings on all hardware. Precursor to Mauser factory works? There’s a faded stamp on the stock too. Did it begin as a flintlock? It seems cut down and it’s a 32” barrel now and roughly .70 bore

Of course there’s a charge stuck in the barrel…

Definitely interesting. Very odd shaped hammer.

My first guess would be some sort of Belgian trade gun (probably made for Africa?). Could be some other obscure thing too. Can you can a photo of the entire gun?

It a percussion conversion hammer from the Kingdom of Wurttenberg. Without having any other parts I can't tell you which model gun is was used on, since this style of hammer was used on several different types of muskets and carbines. But it would have been on something like the M1817/30 U/M Schutzen Musket or M1817/41 Artillery Musket.”
