I am trying to find out about a flintlock pistol I have, has the name JALABERT LAMOTTE inscribed on it has brass accents.any one have information on this?

Welcome to the forum. Any chance you can post some pictures to help the boys ID your pistol?

All I could find was Jalabert-Lamotte were a gunmaking outfit out of St-Etienne France. Most of the pics I've seen indicate that they were certainly around in the 18th and 19th centuries (flint and percussion guns). Whether they existed before or after those centuries I don't know. I couldn't find anything else. :idunno: Here is a beautiful brace of flint pistols by them.

Yes ,thankyou,I also have had a hard time researching it,I did find one site with Jalabert Lamotte, but it is in french,I am going to have a friend show me how to get it translated,I am not to good with modern technoogy,I surprised myyself by even getting on this site and finding a response.
