I just purchased my first custom flintlock from Dixon's in PA, who had it on consignment. I'm looking forward to once again hunting with the "smoke-pole", but with added interest. Before it was just another weapon to hunt deer with, but now as I am a bit older, I'm looking for that "certain something" to keep the hunting exciting as well as learning more on black powder shooting. I think this might be the place!

Your definitely in the right place to learn. There are members here with decades of experience who will be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have or run into. You can also use the search feature on this forum and research topics that you might be interested in concerning your Traditional muzzleloader. More than likely any question that you may ask has already been discussed numerous times in the past. Feel free to ask questions anyway and they will be answered. Respectfully, cowboys1062.

I'm glad you chose a flinter. You will have ups and downs in your learning your new rifle, but over all you will enjoy it.
