flints

I have a lot of English black gun flints and a few French amber flints. So far that seems to be the only colors commonaly available. Do outher countrys have diffrent colors of gun flints? Stands to reason if that two countrys so close together have radicaly diffrent colors of gun flints that other countrys a bit farther away might have diffrent colored flints.

It depends what trace contaminates are present when the flint nodules form.

Up around the Great Lakes I have heard of ruddy gray colors. Could be some iron was present at that time....

Now we need to find a geologist....

I hear up in Whitefish, Montana the flints are kinda white in color and stink too. :blah:
