Hello,
Are you talking about something small enough to fit in a coat pocket? Its "japanned lacquered" exterior and holds a single small candle?

PM or reply here when you can.

I’m looking for a folding tin candle box, thought I’d ask here for one second-hand before buying new.
I tried that many years ago without much success. Was looking for an 18thc example. An OH museum tried and sent me a tin one but based on a ACW example. The original cost continued to rise considerably over the construction. I was disappointed.

I have since found a couple of original European examples in brass, but have not found anyone willing to attempt to build one.

Lots of luck on your quest and if you find a good one with documentation, please let us know
