waiting for the pic to be emailed to me so I can try to determin the maker and condition. heres the ad from a online antique firearms dealer. Some of you know I got a affliction with large bores. I figgure this to be a 6 or 8 bore not the 4 thats claimed. I always thought a 1" bore is a 4? below is the advertisment. any opinions what to look for? yep I want to shoot her

75. Incredibly Massive Double Barrel Market Gun. Both bores are only 820/thousands, which I think is only a tad bigger than 8 gauge. But near the nipples, the breaches are a massive 3" across and each barrel is over 1½" in diameter. My assumption is that the 36" barrels probably shot a 4 gauge load in each barrel. The shotgun weighs well over 20 pounds and is typical of a Market Hunters Gun. The front action shows engraving on hammer and locks and the scene of a dog or fox on each lock. The barrels were proofed in Belgium and 90% of the original Damascus finish is still there. All furniture appears to be lightly engraved. It appears that one hammer is a period replacement. This massive hunters gun could still bring down a whole flock of geese, if you had a enough testosterone to pull the triggers! Seriously there is no reason that you could not shoot this gun, as it appears to have good bores. $899.99

If I buy it I will gladly post pics. I need to get another one of those free host web sites. admittedly I am shy on shooting a original of such a large calibre and charge. Still exploring others ideas before I plunge. Pics do show its it prime shape and the price sure is thrifty enough.

its an 8 gauge. not too bigga gun to handle. especially if it really weighs over 20lbs. 100g 1f and 1 1/2 oz of shot would be just fine if its in shooting condition. im a little leary of damascus barrels my self but some guys dont have a problem with em. its illegal for hunting use anyhow so theres no need to try and blow urself up with big charges.
