I have an old Douglas .32 Cal barrel that I could never get to shoot well. Even coned the barrel, didn't help.....This is a 7 grove, made a$$ backward, the lands are wider than the groves........I checked the bore size years ago and remember it being near 33 cal. I made a .327 three cavity mold for it..........and never would shoot under an inch at 25. 1 1/8-1 1/4 mostly. I was hoping for better.
Anyway.............
I checked the barrel diameter today, and it is .324, and I have been uusing a .327 ball and .010 patch and getting some better groups with Tripple 7 3F.
OH YEA, .............I cut the barrel off, the cone is gone and I have a new crown!
AND...............
I got out the .320 balls and some .005 and .010 lubed patches........with 25 grains of T7, I am getting some nice groups. Just shot two groups of 5, but they look very promising.........pictures later!
