A friend gave me a pound of Dupont Fg and one of Hodgon 3Fg. I know the powder is still usable, but should I use it? I'd hate to use it up and then find out it was collectable or valuable in some other way.
Any thoughts?

If it was me, I would use the powder, collectors really go for old powder cans, not the powder itself...

I say that because you could get into serious trouble if you were to sell it "as is", you need a federal license to sell explosives (powder)...

I bought some 1970's vintage British Meteor powder really cheap a few years ago. I have on occasion seen the empty cans on e-bay for around $25. Cost me about $5 a can. Sometimes I see interesting powder cans in the trash cans behind the firing line at Friendship.
