French Musket circa late 1700's

[Musketear]

This old French musket belonged to my father originally from that country.
Probably from late 1700's....with intricately carved stock (one side carving
of a dragon, the other carving of a man and dog). Likely related to a
certificate of leave - also in my possession - dated 1791, from the 16th
Regiment of The Dragons (of Orleans, France). No mfr. markings. Would
love to learn more, any information appreciated. Thanks !

Musketear, welcome to the site. There is a wealth of info and good people on here. I also would love to see your family heirlooms...i post pictures on here using my Android phone, it's amazingly easy. I snap the picture, then have to zoom in on it just a bit, turn take a screen shot of it. Otherwise, when you tru to upload it you'll get a message the file is to big.
That's the best chance when we're went to the new system.
