I made this friction folder for my Dad.
I had been saving the tine with all the pearls on it just for him. Blade forged from 1084hc.
He absolutely loved it

Now I know what the bumps are called.

Friction folders have been around since Medieval times.
 
Good job, I've made a few. That thumb pad is just about the correct distance. Some folks extend the pad forward on a projecting tongue but then it sticks out when the knife is closed. I really that the style.
