Who is all going to the fall shoot? I might be going if I can get the money together won't be shooting though :(

I will be there the first weekend too.

Any Forum members who are there should try and make it to the Woodswalk shack at 9:00 Sunday morning of the first weekend. We will be having the Muzzleloadingforum Friendship Woodswalk at that time. We will go thru as a group and the member who scores the highest gets to take home the traveling trophy plate which was so generously donated by Silex at the Spring shoot for this purpose.

Two questions.
When does the registration desk open?
Where does the woods walk start?
I joined up again last month so I’ll be an NMLRA member for at least this fall shoot and the next spring shoot. When I did shoot at Friendship it was always trap matches and I haven’t even done that since sometime in the early eighties. It’s going to be like being a first-timer.
Since I only plan to be down one day, registering the day before is pretty much out of the question. I always park in the Kiwanis lot in Friendship because it makes getting out so easy. It won’t be any problem being there by seven or so, but I will make it later if the desk doesn't open ”˜till later.

1st weekend registration usually opens at 7:00 a.m. then goes to 7:30 the rest of the week.

Yep, register at 7:00 and then head toward the Primitive side. Instead of going thru the gate to Primitive, turn right just before the food trailer and then kinda veer left to get to the woodswalk shack. You'll find it right at the edge of the woods. There should be a few of us standing around up there just before 9:00.

See ya there! :hatsoff:

Thanks, (and to Dixie as well) for the info.
I think a few of the targets might be ones that were recycled from a woodswalk I put together for three or four years at the Wahpanipe club. Hope so anyway. I'd kinda like to see 'em again.

I'm heading down Sat. and Sun. looking for a stock blank to build my grandson a rifle.

I am heading to Friendship tomorrow morning. This will be my first time there or any sort of muzzleloading gathering outside my home club. I plan on staying 'til Thursday and taking the two day shooting bag making class. Any "don't miss the..." type suggestions for an old newbie?

I was kicking around the idea of taking a TC Hawken I want to sell (carrying it around gun show style for all to see) is that sort of thing allowed?

As the hour for departure draws near I am getting more excited than a senior citizen ought to be!! :) :haha: :rotf:

Considering that as late as leaving home yesterday morning I wasn’t sure my back was going to be up to shooting, I did well on the woods walk, placing third in the group. ”˜Course, there were only three shooters.
Nonetheless, it was fun, and next June when I’ll be down for most of the week I plan on shooting the woods walk a LOT. Both rifle and smoothbore.
I got most of what I wanted to get on commercial row but it ain’t like the old days when there were so many more vendors. ”˜Twas a time when everything and anything you needed/wanted could be found twixt the road and the firing line. Those days I’m afraid, are gone.
I didn’t buy a bag for the Tingle, but I know where I’m going to get it when I do. Gary from Gwynneville, IN still makes ”˜em the same way he did when I bought one from him in the early seventies. A perfect sixties style. He's close enough that I can drive over there some Saturday.

Well Darn it. I just got back from Friendship. Shot the woodswalk at around noon. Scored a 14 out of 16 and drilled the tie breaker directly in the X. Cut the card and hit the marshmallow but missed the chain and the snake.

Should have seen this here post before I left. Oh well, next year I'll be thar at 9

Bob

You woulda won with that score Bob.

As it was there were 3 of us that showed up to shoot. medic302, Randy Johnson, and myself. We had a good time shooting together. It's great to meet other members face to face. Randy was kinda banged up but he hung in there and got thru.

medic302 took the trophy home! :hatsoff:

He will be back in June to defend it. Meet him there! You could be the next member to get your name engraved.
