Late Saterday I got my frist deer with a flinter,a nice eight point. Had a 16 inch outside spread,DNR said it was two and a half years old.
Used my GPR 54cal. The ball went clean through at an angle about 80yds away and he ran about 80 yds. With out snow he would have been hard to find he left only slight traces of blood that would not have showed up in dry leaves. My load was 80gr. of Swiss and a .530 PRB. :winking: Rocky

Good job Rocky, got any pictures?

I hunt with a GPR as well, only in .50 cal.

Congrats on your deer!

-SHOOEY!

I luv my GPR's. Got a .54 flint AND a .50 cap. :)

Way to go Rocky,
Nice job on the Flintlock Deer!I find since making the switch from Modern Cartridge guns to Hunting only with muzzleloaders I take more care in Paying attention to details Before and after the shot.Sometimes signs can be limited and harder to find after the shot.
Congrats...Halftail :v
