I have a flintlock rifle that has been in our family since they came from Scotland in the 1700's. As a kid I hunted with it killing some nice hogs and deer. When I was about 18 I had this notion that it wasn't sparking enough. So I took it to a fellow who said he could re-harden the frizzen. Well all he managed to do was to obliterate any sparking functions it had.The gun hasn't been fired in over 20 years but is still in mint condition, the lock is marked "Warrented". Are there any reliable gunsmiths out there that could re-harden the frizzen?
