It has never been a problem with any of my flintlocks, all of which are traditional design and high quality (except one and it has not been a problem either). If there is a problem with your locks then it is probably inherent in their design or construction and replacing the frizzen or the entire lock with one of better design or construction should solve your problem and save you some time and energy as well.
