My 6th GGF was James Robertson. He helped establish the fort along with John Sevier. They endured the long siege of the fort in 1775 and then was the mustering point for the Over Mountain men. Even my 6th Great Aunt got in on it.
Back in late June I was able to visit it for the reading of the Declaration of independence. The local Militia welcomed me in.
