Introduced a nephew and niece to flintlocks in the front yard this afternoon before dinner. Used thirty grains of Jacks Battle and patched 7/16" marbles in the critter getter, a wood stocked Traditions Deerhunter outfitted with a 31" octagonal to round tapered fifty flinter smooth bore barrel.
All three of us lefties were having fun killing a card board box.

No shatters. Used spit patched canvas. The important part seemed to be trimming the patch down so it moves off the marble easily. Too big of a folded over patch and air pressure really put the side moves on those light weight marbles.
