Nice work Alex.
Hopefully those interested in this type of gun got to see the thread while it was in the smoothbore section and before it was relegated to the photos closet.

Thank you all for the kind words, it is appreciated.
The gun weighes 8.5 lbs and holds quite well. I really want to shoot it but it'll have to wait till at least next Sunday.
This gun is for me,I have not even thought about a price for it.
I confess, this gun is a PITA indoors,in my small shop it was all I could do not to smack it on something.
Regards to all.

LOL!!
When I saw the great pics I wanted to ask if you had to go outside to turn it around?

Alex,

If that thing of beauty is a PITA in your little shop you can send it to me as mine may be bigger and the lady will have more room to roam!! :hatsoff:

Alex,
I know what you mean about banging everything in the shop. I made one with a 72" barrel one time and swore I would never want to do it again. In truth, I would love to get hold of another so I could build a gun around it that suited ME.
If I may ask, what are the things you would do different on this piece? Is it in construction or architecture?

Basically I'm happy with the overall archetechure and appearance of the gun. My carving is what gives me grief.I'm just not as proficient at it as I'd like to be.Secondly the carving at the BP Tang should be a little more complex.Likewise the carving at the termination of the entry pipe I would do different.I think it needs to be more elongated,or symmetrical shape same as the tang.I could not locate any pics of carving at the EP.After the fact ,I know some one who might have been of help. But thats all hindsight.

I really meant to say a couple of weeks ago what a fine piece you have there. I'd love to have a French gun similar to that one.
