Does anyone have a good source for dimensions an original Fusil de Chasse trade gun. I'm think about building one (not a kit) and would do it correctly. Thanks for any info.

Jack

Hi,
If you really want to build it correctly, I urge you to buy Russel Bouchard's "The Fusil de Tulle in New France 1691-1741" and Kevin Gladysz's "The French Trade Gun in North America".

Larry Horrigan in Michigan will make you a proper fdc barre.
It is pattered off an original 1740ish fdc barrel in my collection

I just checked both Amazon, and ABE Books. I think the Kevin Gladysz book is going to be hard to find. It is out of print, alas. If you do happen to find one, you may expect to pay a premium price for it. Check your local library. Maybe you could find a copy through inter-library loan.

Thanks Alexander, but this will be my next winter project.
Cruzatte, I'm not finding Kevin Gladys's book either , I'll check the library. I just ordered Russel Bouchard's book from Track of the Wolf.
Thanks again
Jack
