Gentlemen, Please look at the game bag in the attached pictures. These are from artists from the mid 1700's Chardin, Oudry and Vallayer-Coster

It has a metal top and three compartments and since it was included in paintings in the time period by three different artists I must assume it was a common item. The best illustration showing the three compartments is by Anne Vallayer-Coster titled Hunting trophy with dead hare. Unfortunately while I have it in a book I can not find it online to show you.

I would LOVE to have a reproduction of one of these bags, does anyone have any idea where to find such an item or where I might look?

The open top I would think would be great for those who load from the bag and not a loading bench and would be a very very cool conversation piece.

Thanks!

Member James Rogers here (Capt James?) is the guy to talk to. He’s studied and reproduced most of the early game bags. He's a foremost expert IMO. He’s also a member of ALR and CLA. His Facebook ‘James Rogers Reproductions and Creations’ is worth checking out.
