Gave the .40cal Late Lancaster a good going over...

Have put about 1000 balls through it now and will give it a rest, maybe all the way until hunting season.
(have a .45cal Virginia I want to play with this summer)
Removed most things from the stock, cleaned & lubed everything, polished all the brass, reassembled...ready to go.
Have used PRBs exclusively for years but with the introduction of 'oldnamvet's .40cal x 200grn R.E.A.L. conical, will probably try and take a deer with it using one of his little conicals this fall 'just because'...October is not that far off any more.

Roundball, I must have missed your report on the .40 X 200grn R.E.A.L conical out of your gun. Is there a reference to it? It looks like something I would like to experiment with in my .40. Even though we cannot deer hunt with them here, it is interesting to me.

That's a good question. I know you've said before, but I forgot and couldn't find it on a search. Since you're putting it away for the summer, what do you recommend for long term storage?

I try not to make "recommendations"...instead I'll share what I do that works for me:

100% clean
100% dry
100% lubed with sloppy wet patches of WD40
