Hi,

My name is Jon, I'm new to muzzle loading firearms. I've just put a matchlock on lay-away, so I'm trying to get as much information on them prior to getting it in my paws.

Overall I have a great interest in the development of firearms from gonnes through to modern technology.

I'm fairly familiar with other kinds of firearms, I own a number of military surplus rifles (SMLEs, Mosins, Mausers) and am involved in military reenactment as an Australian WW2 private.

I am currently putting together the gear for a 17th Ukrainian Cossack (hence the matchlock). I am interested in all facets of muzzleloading and hope to get a wheel lock and a flintlock or several in the future. Time and space permitting, I wouldn't mind a small cannon as well..
