last night before I went to bed got onto Georgia's reg's and to say the least I new it was comming looks to have scopes and other optics will be allowed for the primative hunts for 2005 2006 Georgia has been one of the hold outs well no longer and longer season, still no hunting deer over bait , but hog hunting over bait will be ok'd , i'm not fond of inlines but this will make them in liners real happy so they will be tacking longer shots at deer with them 150 magnums that gets me more nervous than ever . bb75

I interpret the use of scopes with an ML during the regular firearms season. Not during the Primitive season.

From:
http://georgiawildlife.dnr.state.ga.us/assets/documents/Georgia%20Deer%20Report.pdf

"Among hunters, there is much more support (58%) than opposition (21%) to having one
statewide season for deer with no zones, and there is much more support (76%) than
opposition (18%) for allowing hunters who use muzzleloaders to use magnifying scopes.
Among the general population and landowners, support exceeded opposition to both, but not
as greatly as among hunters."

From the 2005-6 Regulations:
"DEER & BEAR FIREARMS:
Muzzleloaders: .44-cal. or larger, or
muzzleloading shotguns 20 gauge or
larger.
Primitive Weapons: Legal weapons during
primitive weapons season include
crossbows (scopes legal), bow and
arrow, and muzzleloading firearms.
Muzzleloader hunters must use iron sights
or peep sights (fiber-optic material is OK)
during primitive weapons season. Scopes
and other optical sighting devices may not
be used during the primitive weapons
deer season."
