Is German silver a less dense metal than regular iron sheet? I read that silver plate is "dead soft" when you buy it but don't know if I need to anneal the GS to work (saw) it?

I'm confused. Sawing generally, in my experience and understanding isn't "working" the metal. "Working" involves things like swaging it (or "swedging" as some prefer it in an odd vernacular), hammering it, bending it, or "forming" it in some way, compressing or expanding it. You can file or saw it to your heart's content and not worry about it, I think.
