I have ben around the forum for a little while now. I'm starting to elbo my way into sand to get comfortable. Well I have been looking at the C&B revolver market lately and I've been developing a familiar itch. Kind a like when I started looking at my GPR. Hmmm maybe I can just nip this thing in the bud and up and get the remedy. The Remington .44 '58 looks rather interesting to me. Pieta may be the answer. I'll keep reading and scratching and see what happens.

Sorry to break the news to you.....this is an itch for wich there is no cure! :shake: The purchase of a nice C&B revolver is advised to help the symptoms subside, but the itch will continue for the rest of your life and new purchases will be needed to sooth random flare ups!

P.S. for larger flare ups a rifle is needed! :rotf: Good luck!

 I've got the same itch and scratched it early on with the Pietta Remy .44 target model.Pleased as can be! I'm lucky I'm a poor s.o.b. 'cause the itch is incurable.

I went out to the range today and scratched my itch real good! Hey Rikeman! I brought out my Walker to make some good smoke!

The Remmy is a good gun! Remember to get a spare cylinder with nipples to make the experience even better!

If you have any questions Mike, don't be affraid to ask!

LOL I read your post earlier stating that you were deciding what gun to take. I was going to help you make up your mind by suggesting the walker, but I guess it was calling you all on its own! :rotf:

I am going to be taking mine out on Saturday.

Gentlemen thank you all! I've found that when BP fever flares I know I can always get support among the similarly afflicted. My intentions to is to seek help. I know that through intensive research I will be able to acquire adequate knowledge to sooth the BP fever for at least a short period. At least until I see another firearm that looks interesting, like a sharps, or a SXS .12 or ...

I started out with a 58 remy for civil war reenacting. Now I think I have about 8 CB pistols and still looking at others for more.

Man, at this time my budget is so much smaller than others here.
Maybe that part time job down at the corner store could pay for few more...

I'm kinda like Poor Private in that I have 8-9 C&B revolvers and 10-12 single shot pistols. Those range from the inexpensive (at the time) Sea Service pistols made in Japan up to a few semi-custom jobs. So you see, there is no cure, only temporary relief from the cursed BP itch. Emery

Remember that most of us have been doing this for quite a while now...in my case I've been shooting and collecting firearms for over 30 years :haha: . As my Dad used to say, "Rome wasn't built in a day"! Scratch that itch as often as you can afford, but in the meantime, make sure that you can shoot whatever you have REAL WELL! Then acquire more STUFF  :)

Make Smoke!

I got lucky! I bought my first black powder pistol in a kit about 2 months before Christmas. I was surprised with a Walker and a Hawken as additional Christmas gifts!

Hey Rikeman!

You got lots of new toys at once, that's for sure! Good luck tomorrow with making smoke!

I'll be going to a Boy Scout Klondike Derby to watch our boys compete at several scout craft stations out in the cold.

Sunday I'll be in our regular BP League competition alongside my Eagle Scout Son who's coming home from college today...really looking forward to it! :) We'll both get to scratch that itch! He uses an Uberti 1858 Remington New Model Army for the pistol portion and a .50 cal Lyman trade rifle with the 370 grain T/C Maxi's for the rifle competition. Both were gifted to him. I'll probably make a post with the match results by this coming Monday. Till then, I'm still itchy :surrender: :shocked2: :haha:

Thanks Rebel but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. I would prefer the fixed rear site.
