Getz barrels

Does anyone have any comments regarding Getz barrels? Has anyone ordered since Don Getz passed away?

Calls seem to go to voice mail, and the mailbox is invariably full..

Don passed away a couple of years back and hadn't been doing any barrel work himself for quite some time, so it was up to John. He was conspicuously absent from the 18th Century Artisans Show this past weekend.

I noticed that. I was planning on at least looking at Getz Barrels at the show with the intent of picking one up. They were listed as one of the vendors to be there

I had heard they were now out of business. And that was a year or so ago.

John posts on the CLA Facebook site. Last week he posted pictures of the Lewisburg show setting up. I was surprised to not see his table there. Out of business? That's a shame. Getz barrels had a great reputation.

My first 4 builds had Getz bbls and then they became hard to come by and switched to Colerain and Rice. Getz produced excellent bbls and never found any flaws.....Fred

I've got a few stored up. I hope John getz back into making barrels.
