I don't get to shoot my Sharps as much as I'd like, mostly because my range is only 100 yds. instead of the 520 yds. I used to have, so my supply of GOEX Ctg. is sitting there aging. Has anyone tried this powder in a muzzleloader? It's between Ffg and Fffg in size and is more highly polished, or something, as it's a lot more shiny than regular Ffg or Fffg. Anyone have experience with it in ML's?

So it's like 2 1/2Fg... :hmm:

Don't see why it wouldn't work, it's shinier because it has (I believe) extra graphite to allow it to flow through powder tubes, I am concerned that the pressure may be higher with the GOEX Cartridge powder than with standard FFg...

However, I got an e-mail off to GOEX with your question, let's see what they say...

I just got this email from GOEX...

Sir,

Cartridge powder is fine for use in a regular muzzleloader. It is simply a refined FFg granulation (more consistent in size) and has a thicker coating of graphite to help the flow during loading.

Thanks !

So there you have it, sharps4590, fire away and have fun...
