I was looking at the Track Of The Wolf site for a screw on spout for my newly acquired GOEX 3f.
Track has a bunch of spouts but some say they are for the old GOEX can and some are for the new GOEX can.
Someone please tell me the difference.
I have GOEX 3f manufactured in 1994, in a red can.
Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure that would be the new can, but if it's an old one, you'll go through that can so fast it won't be worth buying the old style spout anyway...I'd suggest you just order a new style.

And for that particular can, just use something like a 35mm film cannister to pour into from the can, then you can squeeze the sides of the film cannister enough to pour into a powder measure...

I got to looking around a bit, what I did find is that the color of the cap is different between the same cans...

This could be where the difference in size originated from...

Now is the black cap the old style can or is the silver cap it? :winking:

Huntin.. I just bought a couple from Natchez for my new Goex collection. They are plastic and they just snap on and off. They have the attached plug and work excellent so far. They are item #BC51021 BC Pour Spout Goex & DuPont CT and were only $2.53

My caps are black.
According to the stamp on the can I was told it was made in 1994.
Does that make it the new can?? Who know's??

my range can i use to pour into my powder mearsure is an old chalk line bottle....it has the snap on top and a small as you cut the opening as you want....i cut mine at about 1/4" and i have to squise it a little to bring out the powder....and it fits in my old wooden tool box.................................bob

I just picked up some GOEX 2f made in 2003 and the caps are silver.
The 3f I have made in 1994 have black caps.
Both types of cans are the same.
Maybe the different color caps are for different granulation?
The caps are interchangeable.

I just bought a case of the Goex FFg & FFFg. The stamp date on the cans indicated the powder was made September 10, 2003 and there is no difference between the can or caps, shape or color. The only way to tell which is which is by the printing on the face of the can that tells you one holds FFg and the other holds FFFg.

I just physically rechecked mine:

'01 FFFg/3F and '02 FFFFg/4F all have black black caps, so in those cases, cap color is not tied to a single year or a single granulation;

My '03 FFg/2F and FFFFg/4F are all silver, and the same year, but not tied to a granulation;

This post started out as "old style" vs. "new style cap" and we naturally assumed the difference could be told by the color...now obviously not.

But I can now say this:
The same current production style spouts I bought 3 years ago fit all my cans having both the black and silver caps, regardless of year made or granulation of powder.

So the "old style" cap must only differ in that it has different threads or is a different size...see if one of your new caps fits on that 1994 can you've got...bet it will

I got my spout from TOTW and it fits both cans.
I guess the old can they are refering to is REALLY old.

I don't see any difference......I've got their cans from the old DuPont plant with the DuPont label and the transitional GOEX cans with their logo on the top front and the same back as the DuPont can. then their can that has their logo with GOEX under that and last the all red can that has the large GOEX........I believe one screw cap will fit all the above mentioned cans.......john......
