I knew better, but I did it anyway. I went into a shop just to see what they had in the way of Muzzleloaders. I told them I don't like those newfangled doo dads, so they reached WAAAY Back in the back of the safe and dug out a Thompson Center Renegade. It can be had for $150 out the door. It is in 50 cal and overall in decent shape. It has a 209 primer adapter, and the top of the bore looks OK (didn't have a bore light with me). I DON'T need another 50. If it were a bigger bore, I would be all over it. Do you guys think I should pick it up to resell to someone that wants a renegade?

If Renegades are your thing, you could buy it at that low price, sell the barrel and put a different caliber barrel on it...a TC or GM 1" rifle barrel in .54/.58, or a GM drop in smoothbore barrel

What is the going rate for a Renegade in 50?
You can search the gun auctions and probably see some listed at any given time...I think they usually sell in the $200-225 range

Thanks! 'course if someone on the forum wanted the rifle, I would not look to make a profit on it...
