I live in centeral idaho and have just started to hunt with a muzzle loader, this year the fish and game came out with a late( november 10 to december 15) cow elk season, so i was wondering what a good elk load is with a lymon great plains hunter 54 cal.?

about 90gr FFFg should work well....rusty
I use 100 gr. FF in my 54 TC Renegade with 430 gr TC conical. Have had no problems with elk. I shot a moose today with the same set up. She was a 2 1/2 yr old cow. Round went in behind front shoulder and exited in front of off side hind quarter. Have used the same set up for the past 30 years.
