Had one of those good "bad" days at the range today. Sort of like a comedy of errors in that I had just about everything go bad that could. Let's see:

1. Broke my homemade range rod.
2. Set trigger wouldn't set.
3. More flash in the pans than rounds downrange.....
4. Tried some new patch/lube combo's that didn't get on the target.....
5. Generally shot poorly....at 25 yards the deer would have been safe

However, when it comes down to it I had a great time fiddling with everything trying to get the gun to work. I also ran into some folks at the range who were shooting matchlocks and doglocks which was a pleasant suprise from the usual shotguns/centerfires/inlines. All in all I would say it was much more satisfying then going to work...... :winking:

That's OK...everybody has those days...and if it was disgustingly easy, uneventful, so all you had to do was shoot bullseyes the whole range session you'd probably give it up in a year and tkae up something else...bottom line is like you said, an excellent diversion from the work-a-day world.

Well, it was a nice day to be outside.

Be sure and keep good records of what worked, and what didn't!
