Hello to everyone!

I have been around muzzleloaders and various firearms my entire life, but there is always more to learn. Take for instance the reason I decided to join this forum:

Last night I ran across a smoking deal on a muzzleloader that had never been fired after it was purchased in 1987. The box was some off brand that I could find nothing online about. After some searching and seeing the rifle I found out that it was actually an Investarm out of Italy. My understanding is that Lyman imports and sells their rifles, so I bought it. The thing is gorgeous and looks quite nice in my wall rack with all my bows, but I digress.

During all my searching last night I ran across a lot of forum posts and blog articles about things that I had forgotten. It then dawned on me that I needed to refresh my memory and knowledge base by getting involved with those that are truly dedicated to muzzleloading so I can get the most out of my rifles.

SO...... There it is.... The saga of my epic journey.... My trek..... Where this man has.... whatever.

I am happy to be here and very anxious learn stuffs.

I have been reading through the forum and am quite amazed at the knowledge regarding historical events and equipment that the members here possess. It is quite impressive, actually.

So far, one of my favorite content on this forum is the firearm identification section. Some of you guys are just rattling off gunmakers and regions with only a single picture of a trigger guard? Then someone will mention something else and it leads to a story of one gunmaker moving to another state and introducing a specific style of trigger to that region..... Wow.

I must say that I am hooked and a little intimidated. It is like when I would listen to my great grandfather tell stories of the rifles in his gun collection - quite impressive.

At least I know that I shoot good and can juggle a little, so I have that going for me...... :surrender:

:metoo: Everything that Cowboy said.

BTW, digression often leads to some of the more interesting threads on the Forum. If it goes too far :eek:ff , we just make it into a new thread.

Welcome to the Forum! :hatsoff: We look forward to hearing more from you, and helping with any questions you have. We are all learning. That's what makes this such a great place.
