My personal and favorite horn, my 24th scrimshawed piece. Revolutionary themed copied period from original horns . With map of British Military Westward expansion to the Great lakes from New York . Horn was a antique steer horn that was broke off a vintage mount. Found a a flea market the Horn had the most beautiful white and black contrast and burrowed little worm holes in the white to boot. Has made a great companion , and has kept my powder dry. No pun intended.

Those flea mkt. horns are scarce, but are very good to work with. In Last twenty years, I've picked up a set of those Mexican souvenir wall hanger horns. They made two nice powder horns, color good , little moth holes , etc, all that good stuff. last time at the flea mkt. , "pay dirt". This must have been an old family treasure , that looked like just another old 10" dirty cream colored horn. Close examination shows the date , 1785, a mans name, and several "meaningless to me", roman numerals w/ possibly a name of some militia group. Sometimes even a blind squirrel finds a nut ???....................oldwood
