is 175.00 a good price for a t/c renagade 54 cal percussion it has a 4x simmons scope' pretty cut and dry no frills or whistles......
thank you in advance

Is the bore smooth and clean?

Is the lock in good shape?

Does it burn your fingers when you touch it?

Is the scope clear?

If all answers are satisfactory to you, I would say that it is a surprisingly good deal.

thats what I was thinking too !!!! thank you , thank you ,

So... did you get your new "toy"? Pretty good deal if you did. I'd also sell the scope off and keep it as traditional as possible with the open sights (despite the fact that the Renegades have adjustable sights instead of fixed ones).
And does it have the single trigger or double set triggers?

Everyone is anxious to hear how you make out with your muzzleloader... it's kind of like having your own Internet cheering section. When you are having a good ol' time shooting it--it's like we are there (in spirit) with you...

I would like to recommend that you take a 1" piece of 1/2" diameter round stock (an old drill bit works GREAT for this) and polish the ends till they are like mirrors. Glue a piece of felt, rubber, or cork on one end. Now you take that "mirror" and gently slide it down the bore, mirrored end towards the muzzle. Shine a strong light source in and you will be able to see the condition of the bore. I also have a drop in light (that I made). The mirror(s) are a very practical piece of homemade gear--especially for the .32 - .45 caliber, as a drop-in light is usually too large to "drop-in"... Always good to be able to see whether (or not) the bore is actually "clean" after cleaning, and also to check for rust at various intervals.

BTW, Is this your first muzzleloader or "one of many"?

Have fun and shoot safely!
