I just got a new RB mold from Track of The Wolf. It's a Lee .527. I thought I'd try a little smaller ball in my Plains Pistol.
Anyhow, I just cast up a bunch of balls and they are off center. The two mold halves do not line up so the ball is cantered.
This is about the 10th Lee mold I have bought and the only one that has been bad.
I'm going to shoot the balls and see how they perform just out of curiosity.
I'm going to email Track and hopefully they'll get a new one out to me soon.

Lee has a very good warranty so I'm sure they would take care of fixing or replacing it for you.

Are the mold halves free of burrs, especially in the alignment pin/hole area?

Take them out of the handles and fit them together, hold them in a vise or with channellocks and cast a ball that way and see if they line up correctly, could be the handle pins are drilled wrong...

I bet some has a pair just like you, only different. :rotf:

Probably got some lefts and rights mixed up. :hmm:

If you decide to keep it just can't the gun the other way! :rotf:

I'd email or call Lee about the matter.

I have used LEE products exclusively for all my casting since the early 80's, for both BP and conventional cartridges. Unfortunately, lately I have been having a problem with all thier molds: pins falling out, not lining up properly, ect. I have sent several back to the factory....while they have a decent replacement policy, they aren't replacing the defective ones with good ones, IMHO.

I recently got a .690" and a .440" Lee from TOW and they're fine. Guess every now and again a bad one would slip thru with as many of em' as they probably make each day. All in all though, for the money, you can't beat the Lee molds if you just take care of em' and be careful not to ding up the aluminium blocks.
