Congrats and have fun dialing it in ..Just curios about a couple of things if you have time ...
What twist rate did you get ..
Any kind of projectile starting area at the muzzle ..
Does the original caliber get defarbed and the new caliber displayed ..if so how clean did it look ..

This sums it up for me too. I have a 50 that I want to send to Bobby Hoyt. Let us know how it shoots!!
5 weeks is good turn around time.

I got my barrel back in just a few weeks. Hoyt has good turn-around times, one wouldn't normally expect that from such a busy barrel maker.

Heck yeah, I'm abit surprised at that turn around time myself. Last time I talked to Bob he said he was backed up well over 6 months

I had a Lyman Trade barrel redone from 50 to 54 cal. He made it 7 lands, .011 rifling or groove depth with a 1/60 twist. It shoots great and a wonderful person to deal with!
Anyone have contact info for bob hoyt. I have a gun barrel I want changed
I just did a net search and found out some information on this. I do not know if Bobby Hoyt can rebore my .50 New Englander 1:48 into a .54 with a 1:60 twist or not (or do something that makes it shoot RB anyway). Plan on trying to find the contact information and giving him a call next week.
He is not taking any work on until after March. Yes, It has been confirmed as true.

Got my barrel back last week from Bobby Hoyt. I got way more than I bargained for.I sent him an old Jukar 45 barrel and told him to bore it out big to a smoothie Well I got a.580 smoothie.It was areal fast turn around and he is easy to talk to. Now I can have areal turkey gun.Thanks a lot Bobby and highly recommend your work.

What is he charging now? I have three 32" 7/8" octagon 45 cal blanks. Somebody left a patch in each. The patch dried out. A deep rust ring was formed. All three barrels are ruined. Depending on his price I may have him rebore them to 50 cal.

I did well on the barrel price from Bobby Hoyt. I had it ordered on 3rd of Feb. n he had it finished n sent to me in late Sept. I had a 7/8" x 32" in a .400/.408 made for my Under-Hammer. Cost was $125 n $21.55 shipping. So i sent him $160 & was glad he took my order back then. Bobby does nice work.
I had a hawkin barrel recut a couple of years ago. Cost was $80
