Got New Gun Today

UPS delivered my new gun from Cabelas today. It is an 1858 Remington Police, .36 caliber, 6 1/2 inch barrel. It is beautiful. Everything lines up and no scratchs. I almost hate to shoot it. This makes five BP revolvers I have now. Guess I'd better stop for awile.

Funny you should ask. I took it our today. It shot fine. I was really impressed. I ordered some wads from Cablelas but they haven't come in yet. I loaded it with 25 grains and covered the ball with a beeswax mixture. Shooting offhand at 25 yds, I was within 1 inch of the bullseye on two shots and dead in the center with one. It then began to drift a little since it was getting dirty and I had not swabed the barrel.

It was a great day. I met 2steps and he took me to this range. $5.00 and shoot for four hours.

I've got five revolvers and the 36 Rem shoots the best. I do OK but I'm not great so it must be the piece. I will know just had good it is when my wads come in and I can drop the load down to 20 grains.

You don't need no wads to drop your load down, just ad a bit of conmeal as fliier and fire away.

I use cream of wheat and it will compress some.

It will compress a bit. All you want it for is a filler so it doesn't really need to compress much, just take up space.
