Got to shoot a NICE original today!

A J. B. Hanquet, Liege duelling or target pistol. My friend Pete had it at the club today.

The pattern damascus is some of the nicest I've seen.

The gun was supposedly made for Louis Napoleon, but unfortunately there's no documentation of the story, so accept it or not. It's still a beautiful handgun, and the workmanship is superb.

I only got the one shot, and I pulled it right, but it was a neat experience nonetheless. More of a straight-back kick than I expected, due to the grip design.

I'm envious, what caliber and load doed it shoot?

It was .50 cal, rifled barrel. Pete was using a .495 rb over 30 gr of FFFg, a wonder wad, and a .100 patch.
