Lyman says that the color case hardened lock on the GPR is authentic...Is that true? It seems that the locks that I’ve seen in other lock pics are not case hardened. A little expertise please.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is authentic since the process was intended to surface harden soft iron/steel. My GPR made from a kit was one of the early ones. It has a brown colored lock plate. My gp pistol has a cyanide process ( think- its not bone charcoal for sure) color lock.
