A large part of wild grapevine peeled ad ready to be cut up into splittable chunks for making charcoal .Hard to find larger vines like this in northeastern Michigan.
 
That vine is a twig compared to some around my place. I once wondered if I could get a stock out of some of mine. I'll have to admit I don't make charcoal so all the vines I cut go on the burn pile.
Further south I imagine they get very large. I don’t know about making a stock from it as I-think it is too soft. I was maybe going to try a knife handle just for fun, I did one from lilac and it looked ok.
