bought a book at Barnes and Noble called "Steel Canvass" its a great book on engraved American firearms its a must book cost $20

Chuck, after your post my wife and I were at B. Dalton and they had 3 of "Steel Canvas" on the bargain table at $19.95 I do not do much rifle making but I do make reproduction powder horns and there are a lot of good pictures of them also, Thanks for posting about that book :thumbsup:

Might I add Tim Todish's "Through So Many Dangers." It's the memoirs of Montgomery Highlander Robert Kirk. I've been looking for a couple years for his memoirs and then Todish (and other notables) does us a service by making it available. If you enjoy reading first hand accounts by participants, it is well worth it.
