A while back I traded for a full stock 40 cal flintlock rifle, the rifle came with a quite a few things, specifically a .395 Bag mold. The bag mold was said to be brand new and was purchased from Track of the Wolf a year ago. Anyhow, shot the rifle ALOT and was running low on balls. I decided I would cast a few with the bag mold, well... the bag mold casted some irregular shaped balls, football shaped to be exact. Upon measuring the balls with a mic, I had every size from 380.. up to 420. needless to say they were VERY inconsistant. So I called up Track and asked them how much a new Lee mold was.. to make a long story short, they verified that my bag mold was purchased there and directed me to send it back to them for a trade in on a Lee mold. I knew the bag mold was more money...and honestly didn't really care. I was just glad that they traded me for a new Lee mold and now I can cast balls!! I also thought that was REALLY cool of them to do this, seeing how I wasn't even the original owner of the mold.

Yep, they are good folks, I just got thru casting up a bunch of .395's myself, that and a .015 patch are shooting good in my .40 cal. SMR.

Yea just place an order with them yesterday shipping was half of what the other competitor was asking for the exact same merchandise, it pays to shop around.

Good to still have a place that carries a full line of traditional blackpowder items. I've had good service from them as well.

Excellent service to Scotland in the UK, items often delivered from Track quicker than UK suppliers!
See you through the smoke

I, too, will vouch for the quality of service that you get from TOW. I once had a Pietta revolver for which I wanted new nipples. I looked in their catalog and ordered what I though were the right nipples. When they came, they were the wrong size and didn't fit. I called and the person to whom I talked told me that over the years, Pietta and others had used various size nipples for their revolvers. After taking and telling her what I had, she recommended a different set of nipples. I sent the ones that I had gotten back and they sent me a new set. The thread size was right but the nipples were just a bit too long. Back on the phone and she said to just send them one of the nipples that I had taken out of my revolver and they would match it up. I sent it and quick as a wink, I had the right nipples. The total sale was only about $30 but you would have thought that I was spending $1,000 by the way I was treated. They were determined to get the right nipples for me and it didn't matter how much work it took to get everything right, they were willing to do it. So, TOW.....those are good folks, they sell good products and give good service.

You're the 2nd one I've heard of who got a defective bag mold from them. They make it good but what they ought to do is find another supplier. :td:

Track is definitely my go-to supplier for almost everything. I'm fortunate to be so close that many times I've placed orders in the AM one day and it's at my house the next. There's some other great suppliers I use, but Track's gets the bulk of my muzzleloading spend each year.

A point was made that they should find a new bag mold supplier, and I agree if there are a number of defective ones coming back. Replacement service is good, but not having defective stuff sent out in the first place is better!

No you don't. If you are there at 5:01 pm a crabby, dumpy looking old lady will waddle out of the back and chase you out the door, regardless of whether you are in the middle of a transaction or not. It's happened to me more than once. They are fine with phone and internet stuff, but the people there are not good in dealing with people face to face. Their sales people are order takers, rather than sales people.

And...they don't really have an impressive store front. It really is an internet/phone order/mail order business. I've been there twice and didn't get chased out or anything, but since they ship so fast, it makes no sense for me to make a 260 mile round trip.

I too have had great service from them. Received a shipment from them last Friday just at the start of the holidays, box with ramrod in it was really kinked, opened it up and it was busted. Called them and they assured me they would send out a replacement, no charge, sure enough received a shipping confirmation today.
As far as their tech support, every time I have called, someone gave me great service. They would go to the bins, pull inventory and make measurements for me to answer questions I had. Can't get much better than that, my first go to supplier.

Ya know how they keep track of an individual by zip code then last name? In their system that's your "account"
Their computer system keeps a lifetime log/total$$ on each account.
Now some of the pro builders here are easily into 10's of thousands of course,,
If your brave, and your wife isn't there next time your in the shop ask'm what your total is.
Or maybe not !
I've been doing business with them 15yrs or so,, it was kind of surprising to find out how much I've spent on my, uhm, "hobby"
:shocked2: :shocked2:

Not sure how far back it can go, but if you sign in to your account you can run your own order history. After several kits and one gun purchase and a lot of other stuff...my total is up there enough! :shocked2: Fortunately, my wife is supportive, so I don't have to worry if she's looking over my shoulder when I look at the damages! Better ToW than the local pubs.

You have got that right!, I just ordered a C-notes worth from them yesterday. The books Re-creating the 18th century Powder Horn, and hunting pouch took half.

The way I look at it is that it is cheaper than a psychiatsrist. Whatever I spend on shooting my muzzleloading rifles is a whole lot less than I would spend on a "shrink". My analyst is in my gun safe. Any day at the gun range, good or bad, is a lot better than a day spent sitting in a "nutcracker's" office. Stick a gun in my hand and I am a mellow, happy old fart.
