For those of you that missed out on this years Smugglers notch Primitive Biathlon I attached a few photos of some of the regular participants. We had a great time and the weather was perfect.
Congratulations to Stan Spencer for once again taking home the Gold and thanks to Ray Saloomey for putting on such a great event.

For those of you who have yet to experience a Primitive Biathlon there are still several opportunities to partake. The next upcoming event is the Southern Vermont Primitive Biathlon and Winter Shoot held in Manchester Vt. www.svtpb.org

One of the great things about the SVTPB event is that it offers numerous other black powder competitions in addition to the biathlon. So even if you a slower than Grade A Vermont Maple Syrup on a cold New England morning, you still have an opportunity to win some shooting events.

Hey I know Robb from VT in the bottom pic on the right! Nice guy, haven't been up there the last couple of years but there is always next year!

we both had a terific time again, despite an unprecedented run of bad luck - from dry-balling to bad flints, worn out nipples and even locking the keys in the car! despite all this, I would encourage anyone within driving distance of new england to try this out. I have learned so much from all these folks, and every one of these events is a great way to spend time with good people. thanks again to Ray Salomey for organizing this!

Hats off to Ray and the folks hosting it on their land. I love staying in one of those cabins, just rounds out the whole event and weekend.

If you look carefully, the top picture shows Mighty Oak (3rd from left) in front of Gordon Cruz. This will be the only time that will occur! :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Wowwwwww..... I like it!
Nothing like sturring up the pot to get things a brewing. Looks like I better bring my A game to this years SVTPB.
Oh, and for the record. I took second at last years SVTPB while Gordon came in third.

Hosting a biathlon of my own, and Mighty Oak knows also, that there is a ton of setup involved and volunteer help is needed aplenty. Yes Ray deserves a loud thank you, as does everyone helping to run and sponsor these events. An event of this magnitude is like an iceberg... you only see a little of the work to make it happen. :hatsoff:
