What are the guys using to get that green light to light up the bores in the For Sale/Wanted forum? I may want to sell something one day.

I don't think those bore lights give you the best picture of what's going on in the bore. I have looked at bores with one of those lights and the bore looked good only later to find with a teslong camera several rust spots and a bunch of corrosion in the chamber area. Wasn't a rifle I was purchasing, one I had for 40 years.

I have a couple of the brass ones with green light, but the tiny ones for arrows or fishing bobbers are cheap and fit in bores 40 cal and under.
Was thinking this earlier when I was this thread. I've had one of those brass ones for over 30 years. Smallest bore it will fit is 45 and that's only if I take the knurled ring off the top. Other cheaper and better options for smaller stuff out there nowadays.

For me, green does a very good job lighting the bore and I can see crud or pitting on lands or grooves easily. I suspect lighter colors work better, as I find the blue light doesn't work as well -maybe in the dark tunnel of a bore it doesn't do a good job contrasting and it all looks like shadow to me.

A local pawnshop only has green bore lights so you can’t see any minor rust. I bring my own bore light.
