How long will they keep in the green stage,(unroasted) ? Or do I need to roast them now ?

I have them split into 4 tsp amounts in plastic bags now, that quantity works well for camping, for me.

Thanks

Your biggest problem will probably be moisture , causing them to rot .(from the local roastery)
Best place to store them is in an air tight container in the freezer . Just take out what you want when leaving .

Unless they get wet and moldy, they should last for quite a while. I keep mine in the paper coffee bag in which they came in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Plastic is bad because it can trap moisture and lead to mold.

Roasted beans will lose freshness in the paperbag after awhile.
Small amounts will keep longer in a tin or jar.

Moisture is bad, but sealing in small amounts can defeat this.

If they are frozen they will attract more moisture when exposed to air.

No experience with green ones, but there is a roastery near me and it is a terrible smell.
It does not resemble coffee smell in any way.

Where do you guys get green coffee beans? I ain't seen Juan Valdez or his mule around here recently.
Unfortunately, 'ole Juan traded in his mule for a new Hummer, seems cocaine sells better than coffee. Seriously tho, went to local Rural King and bought about 15 burlap bags (.98 @) for our gun clubs "Kids Renevous" for sack races. The bags had come out of Colombia and were used for coffee beans. Eack bag had a hand full of green coffee beans in the bottom. Roasted them in an iron frying pan, crushed thrm with the flat of my tomahawk, and biled 'em in a tin cup. Think it was the best doggon coffee I ever had.

Here's a coffee supplier that has a variety of green coffee beans, right here in Topeka America. They have an active mail order business and supply many regional coffee shops with their products: PT's Coffee Go to the right hand side of their website where it says "GREEN." Their prices are very reasonable.

I had some green coffee beans from them that stayed good for several months before I used them. For some reason, I haven't seen many folks at the area Rondy's do green coffee beans. I got teased about them a bit......but the green beans sure makes great coffee!
